Brief Answer:
Approximately 4-6 weeks

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.
I have gone through your medical history in detail.

A fractured breast bone usually takes 4-6 weeks period to heal.

Usually a splint and a cuff and collar sling is applied to give appropriate rest to the affected bone.During this period,no vigorous activities are allowed.More the rest given, lesser period of time it will take to heal. So,we recommend complete rest to the affected limb for 4-6 weeks.

After that,a Xray of the breast bone is done to confirm the healing process.
Once it has completely united, then routine activities can be commenced gradually.

Active and passive physiotherapy exercises accelerate the rehabilitation process.

I hope the answer was useful.

Feel free to ask me any follow up queries that you may have.

Thank you.
Kind regards.

Brief Answer:
This is not normal

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If it has been 10 months since the accident and if you still have these symptoms then this is definitely not a normal thing to have.

The broken bone doesn't seem to have united till now causing the tender bump.
The physical activities will be affected as long as the bone remains ununited.

I suggest you should get a Xray done and consult an orthopaedic surgeon at the earliest.
Do share the Xray film here so that i can guide you further.

Thank you.
