Suggest Treatment For Foot Infection
Question: I have attached a photo of my dads foot. He is refusing to seek treatment. Maybe if a dr can tell him that this is serious, maybe he will actually go.

He has a serious condition in his foot.
From the photo it looks like infection that is spreading from his big to to the rest of his foot. As it is he may be able to save his foot if he gets seen right away. If he lets this progress he may lose his foot or even his leg. From the photo it looks like his big toe may already be dead and in a state of decay. This is not something that is just going to go away. He must seek treatment. Infections like this can even get into the blood and cause death. Please take him to Emergency right away.

He will not go see a doctor? Is there anything else i can try to say to convince him. Can you tell anything else by the picture? Is there anything else i can say to him? Like a time line, of possible death .

This is so hard and really not something that I can predict. Every person is different with their ability to withstand damage and infection in the body.
At some point he may experience pain or get a fever so high that he is delirious and you can call an ambulance. Please let him know that the longer he waits, the more risk of death and the bigger the procedure it will be to fix this. Now he may only lose a toe, or they may even be able to save the toe, but if he waits he could really end up losing his foot or whole leg.
Again, this is not something that the body can heal on its own.
He must get help for this.
