Question: I want to make sure this is not arthritis as I have been suffering with advanced fibromyalgia for30 years and in the last few or many years arthritis has made a nasty combo of severe pain, inflamation etc. but now my feet have added to this. Both big toes are large bony crucked effecting my walking and standing with excrutiating pain.I suffer total lumbar impairment with arthritis.I am under Drs.care but I am hoping for an added medical explaination. i I wear closed toed but roomy shoe Icant walk or step. I tried sandles those also apply undo pressure and pain and I can't walk either. Keeping in mind I need an elevated heel for my lumbar. That is just starters to get a report with you. Please help and guide me. Thank you for your suggestions. Sincerely,
Saura

Brief Answer:
Arthritis is more likely cause of disfigurement.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The disfigurement of both the big toes can be due to arthritis or bunions. Fibromyalgia is less likely to cause the disfigurement. An X-ray of the toes can help in confirming the degenerative changes.
In case the pain and disfigurement are persistent then local steroid injections can help to reduce the inflammation. You need to consult an orthopedician for a direct examination and few investigations.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
