Brief Answer:
The treatment is correct. Do not worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Please do not worry. The treatment is on the right lines. Mesenteric Lymphadenitis is very common in children in this age group. You just need to ensure that he has a healthy diet which is clean. lots of fluids but ensure the cleanliness of the food and water.
This will settle down soon in a few days to two weeks. Many organisms lead to such infections and among the common ones are Yersinia enterocolitica.
Just continue the medicines for a week and stop. He should be fine with them.
Take care and do let me know if there are any queries in this issue.
