Suggest Treatment For Fever Along With Cough And Cold
Question: Hi Doctor
My wife is suffering from a up and down feverish feeling from inside from last 10 days.
Also she is suffering from cough and cold from the same 10 days. We haven't visited doctor yet as we thought it general problem which happens once in a year.
But now am getting worried as its been 10 days and my wife is not getting a relaxation. The pills we have been using till this time was citrizine for cold and then combiflame for last 2 days for body pains and fever.
Till now she has also taken 2-3 nimoslide medicine.
Please could you advise what medicine I should take it for her or do you want me to go for a blood testing.

I understand your concern.
Your wife possibly seems to have recurrent/seasonal rhinosinusitis.
Since she did not respond to standard conservative management, It is now appropriate to start her on empirical antibiotics for 5 days, continuing Combiflam as such during this period.
You can stop Nimesulide as it is not a safe drug for prolonged use.
I generally recommended/prescribe my patients oral tablets of Augmentin 625 for 5 days.Please check if your doctor if he shares my view and if can prescribe them to you.
This treatment should bring a large degree of expected relief.
