Suggest Treatment For Excessive Belching And Flatulence
Question: Hi Doctor,
I have visted gastroenterologist for excessive burps and farting. He gave me prescription for two weeks. I have followed it now that excessing burping and farting problem is resolved. However i am having a problem where my saliva tastes kinda acidic. In the morning when i wake up i really have a bad taste in my mouth due to saliva if i sleep more than 5 to 6 hours. Sometimes when the saliva makes my lips wet at night the next day i get crack on the lips. Please suggest me a remedy for this. This is increasing day by day.
Pls find the attached prescription which i followed.

Hello thanks for putting your query in hcm. Acidic salive may be due to reflux of acid from the stomach. Although you have been prescribed neksium it appears that the symptom is not resolving. So I will suggest you to take ilaprazole before breakfast as it is more potent and have less side effects than neksium. Also take one prokinetic agent like levosulpiride 75mg od before breakfast. There is combination of these two by name iladac-l which I found very useful in my patients. Also take tablet topcid 40mg od after dinner. I hope I have answered your query and this will help you.
