Brief Answer:
Home visit of psychiatrist is an option

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern.

Many times we psychiatrists come across such cases when patient is not ready to take medicine.

In such cases we ask relative to consult the closest person to the patient (relative, friend, teacher or neighbour) who can convince the patient to visit doctor at least once. Then duty of psychiatrist to make the patient ready for treatment.

When above option is not feasible, home visit of psychiatrist is the best approach. First you can visit one psychiatrist and give the detail history about her. After that psychiatrist can come for home visit to meet the patient and make ready to take the treatment.

Medications can surely help in such cases.

Even after that if patient is not ready, one option is to give medicine in food for few days to just make the patient ready for treatment or patient can be admitted forcefully according to laws to give the treatment when life is at risk.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.

Regards,
Dr Chintan Solanki.
