Question: 42 years old, 10 yrs back delayed period problem(more than 2 months), consulted specialist and orgamed was given from 15th day of period to 25 th day for 3 cycles, problem was solve. After 2 yrs same problem & Dr asked me take same treatment for 3 cycls. After 3 years same problem was faced & different Doctor was consulted, took scan and 3 fibroids ( approx 32mmX30mm of size)were noticed and informed i have harmon imbalance. She gave MEPRATE for periods and once over bleeding was noticed she gave trapic mf. Then I consulted Homeopathy, They assured to save uterus and cure this, But then periods was some time regular, normal, some times irregular, some times over bleeding ,clots, presently long periods for more than 20 days and taking medicines to stop. one year back we took scan and it shows fibroid size is 54mmx48mm. Homeo Dr is saying its purely because of harmone imbalance and nothing to worry about fibroids. and no need to take uterus. Its symptems of menopause. But long & irregular periods is biggest problem. Pl guide us.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
At age 42 , hormonal imbalance is common. You can very well be perk menopausal . But you should have associated symptoms of menopause apart from irregular prolonged bleeding like hot flushes or decreased libido or mood changes etc . You fibroid however is of significant size and needs intervention . I think that your prolonged bleeding with clots may be due to the fibroid . Management is required in symptomatic fibroids . However fibroid .are known to the shrink after menopause . But menopause needs to be confirmed if you wish to withhold treatment .
If you don't have associated menopausal symptoms it's possible that the fibroid is causing the bleeding . Fibroids can be treated medically or surgically . You are already taking medical treatment . However in my opinion fibroids larger than 5cm need surgical management .
