Suggest Treatment For Deep Pain In Thigh

default
Posted on Mon, 28 Jul 2014
Question: I have according to doctors at the pain spine clinic a bundle of nerves in the lumbar area ; where I have 2 herniated disks pinching a bundle of nerves. I am going on my 2nd year of this. I did feel relief for about 4 month after given cortisone inject in sacro.. joint. I had an epideral for the problem in XXXXXXX 2014, but no help. Currently my major pain is a very stiff and deep "charlie horse" on my left thigh.
Currently I'm seeing chiropractor who has recommend a deep muscle massage person. I also go back to the clinic in seven days hopefully for an injection once again in "Sacro.., joint". Should I set up an appointment with a neurologist. My primary physician seems to have no suggestions.

Sincerely, Healthy one moment and the next I feel like a 60 year old ready for the pain pasture. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Contact your neurosurgeon...

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

In the most common cases Herniated disc is treated by medications such as non steroidal anti inflammatory medications and by epidural corticosteroid injections.

But in your case this treatment has failed, because herniated disc is aggravated and epidural cortisone injection didn't relieve your symptoms.

So I recommend you to contact your neurosurgeon for a reevaluation of your disease and to discuss with him about spinal neurosurgical procedure, which I think is necessary.

I hope I answered your question. Ask me for anything unclear.

All the best.
Dr. Behar.
