Question: Hi doctor. Hi believe I have an external hemorrhoid on my buttock. Snap attached. I have had a similar case earlier too, 2 years back. Can you please advice how should I treat it. Also I am attaching the snap of the prescription of my treatment previously. Is it fine to undergo the same medication?

Brief Answer:
There are many options for treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
It is an external hemorrhoid.
Treatment would depend upon whether there is any pain in the hemorrhoid or not.
Either way the best way to get relief would be to do Sitz baths. You would know about it. You have to sit in a warm water bath. Take warm water in a broad vessel and sit in it for 20 minutes 2 to 3 times a day. This will give you a lot of relief. Also the cream advised to you would be helpful.
We at our Center also advice Tab Daflon 500mg twice a day for one month.
If there is pain then you would need a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory medicines.
If it is a recurrent problem then surgery would be the best alternative.
Do let me know how you would like to get treated depending upon your complaints and I can guide you further.
One thing to remember is that when you pass stools, do not strain much and do not spend too much time in the washroom. This can lead to recurrent Hemorrhoids.
Take care.
