Brief Answer:
Didrex is a useful drug for ADD.

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. You have been diagnosed with adult ADD. Didrex is Benzphetamine and the drug is an amphetamine drug. The drug is one of very useful drug for weight loss, narcolepsy but is also used in ADD. The drug has good efficacy in ADD. The drug is a controlled substance. For the prescription of this drug you have to visit a psychiatrist for help. Visit a psychiatrist and explain your symptoms in detail. Once the diagnosis is confirmed then there would be no difficulty in getting the prescription. You can discuss with your doctor for this drug at that situation. As the drug is a controlled substance its online prescriptions will not be accepted by pharmacists because of strict rules.

Thanks, hope this helps you. Please dont hesitate to ask again for more doubts.

Take care

I read online that didrex is in the schedule 3 which allows a doctor to prescribe orally by calling it in to a pharmacy, is this correct? I used to take adderall and vyvanse and quit about 4 months ago. I do not want to go back to either of those and thought didrex would be a good alternative. If didrex can be prescribed over the phone to the pharmacy, wouldn't that make it available online?

Brief Answer:
Physical examination is needed before confirming the diagnosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking again

Yes you are right the drug is having slow release properties and this is the reason they have put the drug into Schedule 3 of drugs. The drug is relatively less controlled drug if we compare this to other drugs. You have quit the Addreall or Vyvanse 4 months back. Adderall or Vyvanse or other amphetamines are Schedule 2 drugs.

Though its easier to get prescription of Didrex but for proper dispensing atleast one physical evaluation is needed. After proper evaluation and Mental Status Examination (MSE) the drug can be prescribed even by oral prescription communicated to pharmacists. But for evaluation you have to visit a psychiatrist.

Thanks. Still have more doubts please ask again.
