Brief Answer:
Please take one step above antibiotics as amikacin is not responding...

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

Thank you for posting your query to HCM,

I read understand and reviewed the report you have attached herewith.

Usually semen is sterile secretion. It do not contain any bacterium. As your report is stating that it is infected with the S. hemolyticus, you are infected with the bacterium concerned.

As per the sensitivity report the organism are sensitive to the amikacin, so it should be respond to the drug. But unfortunately it is not.

I advice you to take the one step up antibiotic that is vancomycin or in one step up linezolid. Please take it under your doctors guidance.

Vancomycin is the potent drug and can clear the organism concerned.

Please take plenty of water. It will help flush the organism from the urinary system.

Please maintain good local hygiene you can do that by frequent cleaning of the genitalia.

You can ask me for further clarification here.

Thank you
Dr Arun Tank

My doctor still indicates amikacin for my treatment for 1 more week. He gave me a prescription including arginin 1g and surbex z to take (no need to inject antibiotic) . After taking these drugs for 2 weeks, I will see him again.
I'm still worrying about my disease and the resistant of antibiotic if I stop using them for 2 weeks
Please give me advice, doctor

Brief Answer:
I vote for change of antibiotic in your case.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am unable to find a reason why your treating doctor wishes to continue amikacin. I feel the organism is resistant to amikacin though it appeared sensitive in the profile. My suggestion will be to change antibiotic as discussed earlier.

I suggest you re-discuss about this topic. Let me know your doctor's opinion.

You can ask me for further clarification.

Thank you,

Brief Answer:
No need for further testing.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

There is no need to test further; you can take the vancomycin or linezolid for the treatment. Once you complete the course of antibiotics you are free from the infections.

You can ejaculate during the treatment period. But avoid intercourse during the treatment period.

You can ask me for further clarification.

Thank you
Dr Arun Tank
