Question: I think my now 21 year old daughter has aspergers syndrome. What can we do to help her with it

The terminology has now been modified (in DSM-5) and Aspergers Disease or Syndrome has been merged along with Autism (and certain others) to a single umbrella of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

Aspergers is a lifelong condition and the primary management is supportive. Cognitive behavioral therapy is very important as it helps her realize her problems and empowers her to competently deal with them.

If hyperactivity and impulsiveness are present, medication can help. There are options other than Strattera that can be used and a psychiatrist can prescribe suitable medicines for her.
