Question: I got married recently (3 months). We are planning to have a baby around mid of next year (to stop using contraceptives from that time).

I want to make sure all goes well. I believe first thing is to prepare my body before I conceive. Could you suggest on how to go about it. Currently I am not under any medication. But I have hair fall problems and i dont seem to have healthy nails. Please help.

Take a note of the following points -
- have a good rest at night and in afternoon which will beat negative energy
- take ample amount of water
- take good amount of milk and green leafy vegetables
- almonds and walnuts are very good and should be taken on daily basis
- avoid any kind of stress
- keep taking fruit juices and salads daily
Also I would like to take some antioxidant tablets like lycogold and also folic acid tablets daily.

Thanks for the response.

1. I take good sleep at night, afternoon i dont get time to sleep as I work.
2. What is the amount of water that I need to drink.
3. Again, whats the suggested quantity of milk intake? in what form?
4. Quantity and time of intake for almonds and walnut.
5. Can u please suggest on the dosage for antioxidant tablets and folic acid ones?
Are there any side effects of these tablets?

Also, I am under medication for ACNE. I am suggested to take Keracnyl facewash and clindot- a gel. Please suggest if these drugs are safe.

Hello dear, good to hear that you get to have good amount of sleep at night.
Take at least 2 litres of water in a day and at least half litre of milk which can be exchanged with equal quantity of curd.
Cottage cheese and soya milk (in case you like the flavor) are good source of proteins and calcium.
Almonds minimum 5 in number and 2-3 walnuts a day will suffice.
Just one tablet of antioxidant and folic acid will be enough as they come in single strength only.
Take all kinds of fruits and salads one serving a day at least which are also very rich in antioxidants.
Avoid this medicated face wash once you conceive as it is not good for the health of the baby but gel can be continued.
But in general for ache avoid oily face creams and even avoid hair oil and rather use hair serums.
Wash your face with simple face wash at least 3-4 times a day and especially before going to bed at night.
