Suggest Remedy For Disruptive Behaviour In A Child

Question: My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter has suddenly become very disruptive at daycare as well as at home and has become obstreperous and telling everyone to 'shut up'. She has also had one episode of waking during the night, going into her parents' room to try to sleep with them but, because they have a large bedroom window with no blind or covering, has insisted that she sees a man standing at the window. When encouraged by her father to go over with him to show him who/where she was seeing this man she refused because she said the man looked very mean. Her dad carried her back to her bed and there was no further incident that night. Up to now she has been the typical 3-4 year old who would balk at times, require 'time outs' periodically, try both her folks and me to see how far she can get without disciplinary actions. She has always been quite lovable and cuddly but definitely has a mind of her own. I think my main concern is seeing a man at the window, however the other behavior definitely concerns both her folks and me.
