Question: I have SI Joint dysfunction. my dr gave me lidocaine patches. I used them for the first time yesterday and was very nauseated all day. do I have to stop them?

you may be sensitive to lidocaine. stop it and report to doctor who have prescribed it.

I have had numerous kidney surgeries and have facet joint injections and have never had a problem in the past with the numbing meds. I also have a sinus infection could that be the culprit? Safe to try one again today and see if it happens again? It really helped yesterday. I had wore the 3% OTC lidopatch before with no nausea from it.

lidocaine sensitivity after use of lidopatch.

Detailed Answer:
in your earlier kidney surgery lidnocaine might not have been used . there are alternative local anesthetic available it can not be linked to sinus problem. might be one develop sensitivity subsequently.sensitivity test can be done.it is advisable to avoid it. take second opinion about lido patch.sensitivity test is the best advise you can be given. discuss it with your treating doctor.
