Posted on Sat, 11 Mar 2017
Question: I just heard from a friend that she got a prescribed med from WebMD for a much reduced rate . I'd like to know if you have anything that might help me. I have Parkinson's and an advanced arthritis in my right ankle. I take quite a few meds but the ones that I'm not going to be able to continue with are: 1) Vimovo (500 mg) and 2) Ropinirole ER tab (6 mg)

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.
I have gone through your medical history in detail.

Vimovo 500 mg is a naproxen (NSAID) with antacid combination used for pain.
Comparatively, paracetamol will be a cheaper and safer option which can be taken orally quite safely. Other options include ibuprofen or tramadol.

Omeprazole,ranitidine are cheaper antacids.

Ropinirole is Dopamine agonist used for Parkinson's disease. Sinemet,Mirapex,Pramipexole and Requip are the other alternatives that can be used instead of Ropinirole.

You can check the rates of these medicnes at the nearest medical store and start on the cheapest one.

Before changing the medicine, you should consult your doctor and get the medicines prescribed from him.

I hope the answer was useful.

Feel free to ask me any follow up queries that you may have.

Thank you.
Kind regards.
