Hi. I am not sure where to buy that and if you can recommend one that's over the counter at a store...I also don't know if VSL #3 is an everyday supplement or one I only take when I have a flare up. An I to understand that the ultimate flora I'm taking isn't helping? Yikes.

Its OTC otherwise you can get it on any online shopping site.

Take it every day twice daily for 1 month and follow up after that.

It's very difficult to explain that why a particular probiotic is not working in your case.
Secondly, IBS is a functional disorder and loose stools should be controlled by using Antispasmodics and anticholinergics.

Probiotic may help alone, but I don't think it would be very helpful when used without anticholinergics.

Please get a prescription for Cibis (I am mentioning the composition)-
Tab Cibis 8mg thrice daily(contains Chlordiazepoxide, Clidinium Bromide, and Dicyclomine) consult your local pharmacy for this salt combination.

Let me explain why Cibis--

Dicyclomine is an anticholinergic drug. An anticholinergic agent is a substance that blocks the neurotransmitter acetylcholine in the central and the peripheral nervous system. Anticholinergics inhibit parasympathetic nerve impulses by selectively blocking the binding of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine to its receptor in nerve cells.

Clidinium bromide is an anticholinergic (specifically a muscarinic antagonist) drug. It may help symptoms of frequent stools.

Chlordiazepoxide works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Oh, I mislead you with my reply. My question about the Ultimate Flora Probiotic, was a question. I wasn't saying it wasn't working, I was wondering if I had bought the wrong kind for IBS treatment, cause it's what I've always taken. I am just checking if it will do the trick or if I need to buy the more expensive VSL#3? Do you know what stores sell it?
