Question: I went to the dermatologist because I had a mole on my lower shin. He said it was a blue mole and mostly benign. it was more grey than blue. He said I should be fine. He sent it out for a melanoma check. Should I be worried?

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

As per your description, it looks like a Benign one, not Cancerous.
Exact nature of the swelling is known by Biopsy only. I prefer to remove the whole mole with some normal tissue all around it (Wide excision) and send it for Histopathological examination (Biopsy). Then, the Diagnosis will be confirmed. Nothing to worry.

Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.

Wish you good health.

Regards
