Brief Answer:
Epilive can be used with precaution in low doses during pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to the "Ask a Doctor" service.

I have read your query.

Studies show no sufficient evidence of serious damage using epilive ( levetiracetam ) during pregnancy, in the normal or low doses.

Since there is a potential risk for fetus damage, in such cases, there is necessary to weigh the benefits and potential risks of use.

Since your Doctor advised you to use epilive, and the dose is a low one, and seizures may expose you and the pregnancy to greater harm, I think too that you can use it.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Brief Answer:
I would explain as follows.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

The dose of 500 mg epilive twice/daily is a normal dose, 500 mg once/daily is a low but yet normal dose.

So, if you were recommended 500 mg daily dose, you can take it twice 250 mg each time.

Hope this helps.

Take care.
