Question: Question. Have been diagnosed by nlood testing regarding hep c. hep c antigen positive HCV. ant positive. A gastroenterologist. Did a polymerase chain reaction test twice. Results negative both times. Am 58 and never had any high liver levels on blood work.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per standard text,
HCV RNA was detectable only in the serum in 65% of the anti-HCV-positive people.
One doing PCR test HCV RNA in serum was detectable in none of the patients with a normal liver histology and functions.

So you are a healthy carrier with normal liver.

Carrier does that mean that I can still transmit virus.? Also. Will I meed othet pcr test. I feel good. From reading 2 tests one to confirm negative is sufficient.
