Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for the query. I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you have been suffering from pain on head due to trauma.

With a head injury, it is normal to have a headache or feel pain when that particular area is touched. If you have no history of unconsciousness, disorientation, vomiting, headache, loss of balance or memory loss, then you should be worried at all. Such type of pain will disappear within few days to weeks.

In the meantime, you can take non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen naproxen orally and apply topical painkiller cream on the painful area to subside the pain.

If you still are worried, then you can undergo CT scan or MRI of brain to exclude any head injury related complications.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I lost my balance on Monday when I fell. That is how I hit my head. I am assuming you were talking about after the injury, And having a slight headache is OK? Would I be showing more severe symptoms by now since it has been over 48 hours?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for joining again. Yes, I have talked earlier about the consequences or complications following a head injury due to any means. Headache after a head injury is quite normal and there is nothing to be worried at all.

Sign and symptoms of traumatic head injury may occur at once, within 24-72 hours, or they may appear days or weeks after the injury. Sometimes the symptoms are subtle. A person may notice a problem but not relate it to the injury. Some people will appear to have no symptoms after a traumatic head injury, but their conditions worsen later.

Common symptoms of a minor head injury include: a headache, lightheadedness, a spinning sensation etc. Usually no medical treatment is needed for them and they gradually disappear over the passing of time.

Just stay calm and observe. As, 48 hours have already been gone, so I think that the head injury is mild and it will not develop any long complications. But, If you experience any type of complications related to the head injury, then consult your doctor promptly for medical attention.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
