Question: My mother in law has brain benign tumor and have also undergone SRT Treatment 2months ago. She is having urine incontinence issue now and also have got so weak that she is unable to sit as well on a chair. She seems very low, have stopped responding to us much. I would like to know if its a side effect of the treatment. Please let me know what can be done to get her strength back. Also I would like to know the available elder diapers which provide the best good absorption.

Brief Answer:
Very likely that current situation is a side-effect of SRT.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service.

I have read your query carefully and understand your concern.

Yes, urinary incontinence, feeling very low, and not responding, and weakness all could be due to the stereotactic radio surgery (SRT).

You need to consult the neurosurgeon who treated your mother without delay. And you will probably need to repeat an MRI scan of the brain again to see the extent of damage done by the SRT.

You can get your mother into a physical rehabilitation program (physiotherapy) under the guidance of the treating neurosurgeon. Physiotherapy will restore the power partially over a long period of time like 6 months to 1 year.

You can buy any branded adult diapers, they work equally well.

I hope this answers your query.

I hope your mother recovers soon.

Best regards
