Question: My husband is 76 and diabetic. I noticed last night watching tv his chin was moving up and down. Then in the night i looked at him and his upper body was trembling...he wasn't cold. He was unaware of these 2 things. He had a TIA about 5 yrs ago. Couldn't speak coherently taken to er but by then it was gone. Could this be something smiliar?

Brief Answer:
It was most likely a TIA.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.

I have read your query and here is my advice.

The answer to your question is yes, it was most likely a TIA that caused those symptoms.

In such cases is advisable further evaluation with brain imaging ( MRI and MRA), and cardiac work up in order to get a correct diagnosis.

Discuss with your husband's Doctor for these issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
