Question: My husband has a Foley catheter and is worried it is not draining his bladder as it should. Is there a way to check? He is also complaining of pain. Is this a cause for concern?

Check if the bag has urine.
The bag should be positioned below the bladder level.
Check the tube for kinks or foldings.
If the catheter is draining the urine but he still has pain this may be caused by infection which are common in people having a catheter.
