My Fiance Is Having Bad Stomach Pain In His Upper
Question: My fiance is having bad stomach pain in his upper right habd quadrant. he threw up around 10 pm, and the pain started around 3pm. he mentioned that his lunch may have been left out lf the fridge for an extended period of time proor to reheating. so i thought it could be food poisoning. can you probide any insight? is there a need to go to ER?

Stool analysis and culture are required to confirm the diagnosis.
Management is with antibiotics (usually a combination of Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole) for which you will need a prescription. So please be advised to follow up with the urgent care.
Meanwhile ask him to drink plenty of water and electrolyte containing drinks like Gatorade. Follow soft diet. BRAT (Banana, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast) diet will be easier on your tummy.
He can also take Buscopan 10 mg thrice daily for abdominal pain.
To control vomiting give over the counter tablet zofran 4 mg thrice.
Going to emergency is required only if pulse of patient is more then 110 /minute or blood pressure is less then 80-90mm of hg(upper one).
You could keep a monitor of it on automatic machine.
