My Father Has Pain In Neck (mainly Cervical Spine Area)
He is also complaining of pressure in left hand. It reduces when he lifts his hand or keeps it behind his neck.
He also has dizzy feeling since then about once a day when he walks more.
He consulted an orthopedic whose diagnosis based on X-Ray (attached) is Cervical Spondylosis. Please also find the prescription attached. Kindly advise if the course of action is correct.
Earlier the orthopedic had asked to get ECG done to rule out any cardiac related issue. I am attaching it as well.
His BP reading is normal ~121/79. He takes Tab Concor AM 5mg once a day.
Cervical spondylosis likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have seen the attached reports. The findings and the symptoms are suggestive of cervical spondylosis. The treatment he is getting is correct. He is likely to feel better in next few days. Doing a hot compress of the neck muscles will also help. He can avoid using a pillow. Take help of a physiothearpist .He will be able to give him relief by intermittent traction, ultrasonic therapy etc.
I hope this answers your query.
