Question:

My daughter had an operation for hernia. She had to subsequently undergo 2 more operations because of seroma solidifying on the stomach wall. After 3 major surgeries, seroma is gone but she has a bulging stomach. What causes it and how to get rid of it?

Brief Answer:
An ultrasound scan is required.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
The two possibilities are recurrent hernia at the previous surgical site or another collection like seroma. other unrelated conditions like ascitis or intestinal lieus can also cause similar symptoms.
Consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound abdomen scan. Further treatment will depend on clinical findings and ultrasound reports.
Wishing all the best.
Thanks
