Question: My baby has severe cold, cough with mucus. My baby is 7 months old. I give her baby food like cerelac, ragi malt and I'm breastfeeding. Not giving any external milk or formula. A general doctor has recommended to stop breastfeeding. Suggesting to give lactogen and baby foods. What shall I do? Can I get the reason for my baby to get mucus?

Brief Answer:
No need to stop breast feeding

Detailed Answer:
Hi
7 month old baby with cold cough is usually viral infection , but if not settling with medicines given by your doctor , I would suggest to get her examined by a Pediatrician to look for chest congestion or throat infection which may need further medicines or nebulisations.
No need to stop breastfeed. No need for lactogen .Can add solids and continue to feed till 2 years as per WHO recommendation.
Can use fan no problem .
Wishing your child speedy recovery
