Question: Last night I used a different soap to wash my 10 yr old son's face mask and then put in the dryer to dry it, but it still had a strong fragrance from the soap the next day when he went to put it on for school. After I dropped him off at school, I worried the whole day that he was breathing in chemical fumes and fragrances from the soap.

The ingredients are as follows: Water, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Oleth-10, Fragrance, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Propanediol, PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Citric Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Triethylene Glycol, Benzyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter Extract, Benzophenone-4, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Peel Oil, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Sodium Hydroxide, Linalool, Limonene, Hexyl Cinnamal.
I will never use that soap again.

I worry that the fumes could be cancer causing? Should I be worried about him inhaling it all day at school?

Brief Answer:
All are safe ingredients.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

All the ingredients that this soap contains are usually used in soaps and in all other cosmetic products.
Also I don't think that there can be any possibility that the fumes or parfum can be causing cancer.
You should not worry for such a thing.
You can stop using it and better choose a gentle soap with less ingredients.
Don't worry about causing any damage to the child.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
