Question: Last night I noticed a pain in my cheek. There is nothing visible on the inside or outside, but it feels like I have a gland or lump that is very tender to the touch. When I open my mouth all the way it is very sore. The same with chewing. What can I do to help this? What could it be.

Hii. It seems that you are having inflammation of your parotid gland if the pain is in the cheek. It may be any sort of dental infection. For parotid gland inflammation the treatment is conservative. Drink plenty of water. Give hot fomentation over the cheek. Eat more citrus fruits and can take paracetamol for pain. For dental infection start betadine gargle,warm saline gargle, paracetamol tablet. Wait and watch for 2 days. If it is not resolving then consult an ENT surgeon.
