I’m 31 Year Old Women, With Elevated Bilirubin , Nausea

default
Posted on Sat, 6 Feb 2021
Question: I’m 31 year old women, with elevated bilirubin, nausea (no vomiting), right abdominal pain under my bottom rib that comes and goes throughout the day, sudden alcohol intolerance (worst hangover after only 1 drink, & I used to be able to drink much more). I recently bought a treadmill and lost 30lbs, I feel like ever since I’ve had so many issues. My ultrasound came back clear and my dr is saying it’s Gilbert’s but I feel like she hardly listens and she’s not dealing with debilitating nausea & 3 kids. I thought maybe it was a food allergy but I’ve been trying hard to maintain my weight (now I can’t seem to stop loosing) so I don’t want to go on a strict diet for fear of loosing more.

I’ve added the bloodwork to reports. I believe my bilirubin decreased because I quit drinking alcohol after the first lab came back elevated.

Brief Answer:
Answer given below

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for uploading the reports.
Your liver enzymes are within normal range.
Only your bilirubin is elevated and is less than 5 and also the indirect component is more than the direct component.
You hemoglobin is also within normal range.
All these point towards XXXXXXX Syndrome only.
You nausea could be due to gastritis.
EGD scopy may be done to confirm it.
Prilosec and Zofran may be taken for relief.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
