Brief Answer:
It is very likely you have a viral infection, more advise given below

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Because your symptoms include respiratory symptoms (cough and throat problems) and general symptoms like shakiness, lightheaded, cold with the diarrhea it seems you might be going through a viral infection.
Generally viral infection affect several systems at a time and may give wide spread complaints.
If your symptoms are for less then a week then the chance of having a virus is very high. If your symptoms are lasting for longer then 10 days then other conditions have to be considered.

Do you have fever (temperature over 38 C)? And if yes for how many days. If fever is less then 3-4 days then there is nothing to worry. If you have fever that has been there for longer then 4 days then you will need to see a doctor to rule out more important infections like lung infection.

As for the diarrhea, it is not very common to be with blood. It may happen rarely with viruses. If you are having little blood with stool and no fever then a virus can be the cause but if you are having a lot of blood with the stools and or you have fever with the bloody stools you will need to see a doctor.

Meanwhile to help with the symptoms:
- make sure you take plenty of fluids to substitute the loss with diarrhea, oral rehydration solutions that you can get over the counter in the pharmacy are the best to substitute both water and electrolyte loss with diarrhea.
- rest and make sure you avoid contact with people or have a very good hygiene of your hands so you don't spread it to others.
- eat frequent small amount of food if your appetite is not good, avoid sweets, milk, coffee and alcohol as these can make the diarrhea worse.
- medications for diarrhea are not recommended to be used routinely and are contraindicated if you have bloody diarrhea so i would recommend you to not use them.
- you can continue the herbal remedy you are using for the cough if you think it is helping you.

If you are not better in 2-3 days or you notice any worsening you will need to see your doctor to have a thorough examination to rule out lung infection and other conditions.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
