Brief Answer:
It is safe to travel by air

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Placenta development occurs in the lower uterine segment, and it gradually migrates to upper uterine segment as the pregnancy advances. Placenta reaching upto internal os is marginal placenta, and is not associated with bleeding at this early gestation.Traveling by flight is safe after12 weeks of pregnancy, and placenta is usually low lying in early pregnancy, so you can safely travel. Avoid any air travel after34 weeks of pregnancy.
However, do get a follow-up ultrasound at 18-20 weeks of pregnancy to confirm the location of placenta.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, thanks for responding. You can safely travel by air in 17 th week.
There is no need of complete bed rest in low lying placenta. The precautions which you should take are:
1. Avoid heavy and strenous work
2. Avoid lifting heavy things
3. Abstinence till placenta is not shown to migrate upwards.
Complete bed rest is never recommended in pregnancy as it can lead to other complications like deep venous thrombosis.
