Question: Hi, I have few question about an encounter I had and I would like to know the chance of transmitting any kind of STI / STD in general.

I have been to an aroma massage center in Tokyo, in which they use an oil to massage to whole body expect touching or reaching the genitals, they are basically massage shop that accepts both all type of genders and they do have couples courses and so on .. it took a two hours course of oil massage, there was no sexual activities, she did not touches my genitals at all, I did not touch her at all, the massage therapist had tiny pimple or cut on her hand and I could feel it not sure if it’s bleeding .. they issues is that I had a wide open cut on near the tip of my foot finger as I was playing football and got injured before the massage treatment and it stopped just before the massage and when she actually started to massage my foot , the finger bleeds a little or when she touch the fingers nail as well,

As I said this is kind of shop where you have to wear a disposable underwear and so not sure the chance of transmission of any STD from the massage towels or the therapist since it’s my first time I do the oil massage, also a week from this experience I started to have symptoms like sore throat, fever and fatigue and when I was search for the Internet I was like shocked especially that I feel I did nothing wrong and I have a regular partner and family

My question are as follows,
Given that I have had open wound and she may have hand pimple or scratch and she touched me a lot,

1- is their a chance that I got infected by STI ?
2- is this a safe practice 100%?
3- do I need to visit a doctor and should I avoid any relationship with my partner ?
4- as you know tough sport like football usually I do have surface body scratches would it be possible that virus can transmit over the skin scratch or open wound in the tip of my finger ?

I do appreciate your kind and swift reply as I am supper annoyed and worried on what I have read in the Internet. am concerned since a week and I want to resume my life as normal and now after me being sick I got so much worried .. to pass anything I may have to my family .. Thank you again !

Brief Answer:
Your risk for HIV/ STI is negligible

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
HIV transmission cannot occur in this way as you had a described.
1. Not necessarily she would be a HIV positive
2. HIV cannot be transmitted by casual contact unless the wound, cuts or injury were fresh... And if there was an exchange of body fluids.
3. All the STI organisms are highly fragile, cannot be viable outside the body fluids not more than few seconds. So STIs were also unlikely.
4. Sore throat , cold can occur to anybody at any point of time. Not ncessarily due to HIV. The first symptoms due to HIV can occur only after 4 to 6 weeks after the infection, not earlier.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Your risk for HIV/ STI is negligible

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
No STI organism including HIV can thrive in massage oil. Not to worry.
HIV transmission chances in the presence of cuts on your toe digits or also sores like one on her hands is negligible.
Once you had doubts about the HIV/STI status occurred, it will disturb you persistingly. Words alone will not sooth you. Kindly have tests for HIV and STI 12 weeks of the incident, get the negative results. Only after seeing the reports you will be relieved totally.
