Is Mucus In The Stool Indicative Of Chronic Amoebiasis?

Question: My mother passes stool with some mucous like substance now and then.She is diabetic taking medicine for 15 yrs but keeps normal,is a hypothyroid patient takes medicine,has hypertension and takes medicine,is a rheumatoid artharitis patient tks folitrax 7.5 folic acid for last 4 yrs ,what can be the cause of mucous in her stool ,done occult blood test as prescribed by physician ,found entaamoeba histolytica ,pls help me out.

Hi,

Generally chronic amoebiasis can be there in diabetics. Sometimes it can come up with mucus in stool. The gut keeps fighting to kill the parasite.

That's the reason on and off Mucus. Just need to take albendazole with probiotics. Your doctor should have prescribed that already.

THANK U DOCTOR.Yes ,the doctor has prescribed her Oniz,Econorm andORS.Can we give her albendazole and probiotics like Yakut.Will albendazole kill both bad and good parasites which help in digestion?Can it be curedfrom root ?how to tk these medicines?can albendazole be tkn for a long period of time ?Is it the medicine used to deworm children ?pls suggest some immediate steps to curb the problem from its root,can homeopath treat the problem?she is already tking Nux vomica and carica papaya as suggested by a govt .Homeopath.Thanks and Regards.

Hello,

You can give probiotics like Yakult for longer time to few months after ECONORM.

Ornidazole is very specific for entamoebiasis. If they had already given it, you do not need Albendazole. You continue this treatment as given by your doctor. It would kill from the root.

I have no idea how homeopathy works so I cannot comment on its efficacy and about Nux Vomica or Carica.
