Is It Possible For The Bat To Transmit Saliva In A Fraction Of A Second In My Eye?
Question: A week back on 07/09/2023 I was cycling during the night in a dark area when a bat came flying and collided with me for a fraction of a second. The major point of contact was above the left eyebrow and also my eyes got shut immediately at the moment in reflex. There was no blood or scratches visible. I also came back home to wash the area with Savlon in water. I have till now visited a few doctors and they told me that no medical intervention is required. Today, I don't know what came to my mind and I searched YouTube for this and a video popped up saying that in 2019 an incident took place where a bat attacked the man at his hand during the DAY time and he didn't contact any medical professional and was infected with rabies 6 weeks later. The article mentioned he had a small puncture wound on his hand. So this made me quite stressed out. I have a few queries like:-
1) Had the bat bitten me I would have noticed right?
2) It's been a week since the incident and there is no redness or discomfort at the site of the collision (PS:- my skin is quite sensitive, even a mosquito bite leaves me with a red mark for a day), so is there anything I need to worry about.
3) Is it possible for the bat to transmit saliva in a fraction of a second in my eye? Though my eyes got closed immediately as it hit me on the forehead part and I didn't feel any pain in my eye after the collision.
