Question: XXXXXXX is around 6 months old according to Expected Delivery date. The summers are set in XXXXXXX with temperatures close to 40 celsius. Can we give him little bit of water to drink. He is mostly taking milk and 1 time semi solid in the day. So, some times it feels that he is thirsty and not hungry

I am glad that you have provided the corrected gestational age which is calculated with respect to the expected date of delivery. Weaning is suggested at 6 months and rather than giving only a single feed with semisolids, you can gradually increase it to 6-8 times a day. Water can be given in small amounts if the child feels thirsty. But it is to be kept in consideration that the water intake can give a sense of fullness of the stomach and hence the actual intake of food might decrease. This should not be the case. Otherwise there is no problem is water is given when he feels thirsty but not hungry.
