Is Excessive Screaming Normal For A 7 Month Old Infant?

default
Posted on Sat, 6 Jun 2015
Question: Hello doctor
My daughter is 7 months old and she screams a lot
By screaming I mean screaming and not crying
She has been doing that since she was 3 or 4 months old my mother told me nobody screams that much
It seems as if she has no pain or anything but she enjoys doing that and if I distract her she stops ...
When she gets up in the morning she screams more
Is it normal behaviour ?

Brief Answer:
Its normal in this age

Detailed Answer:
Hi...its normal in this age group. This is the age when everything is new to the infants. They try out everything as much as possible and in turn get stimulated and keep learning their own bodily capabilities including voice.

So do not worry. Only make sure that she's not in pain or any other discomfort when she's screaming.

She's must trying out her voice and attaining age appropriate mile stone.... Don't worry.

thanks doctor,

i hope there is nothing to worry as she screams like aaaa
also i know she is not crying rather sometimes she is laughing and screaming at the same time.
secondly she is seven months old and she sits by holding her feet i mean she can sit but she needs to hold her feet to support
is it normal at 7 months ?
otherwise she is perfectly ok
she grabs for things , smiles a lot, can turn both ways since 5 and half months, even she looks for hidden things
