Is A Deformed Bulge At The Side Of My Leg A Big Concern?

default
Posted on Fri, 15 Jul 2022
Question: I have just noticed a deformity on the side of one of my legs, just below the knee. No pain, but it has become quite a bulge. Feels hard. I'm a borderline diabetic, on Metformin, 1000mg, twice a day. I have several varicose veins at the top of that leg. They have never bothered me. I've had cortisone injections in both knees, over the last few months. Both are bone on bone, waiting to lose weight before replacement. I'm 5'7'' and weigh about 306, and I'm 70 years old

Brief Answer:
Can be soft tissue swelling.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

A bulge on the side of one leg without any pain can be a soft tissue swelling like sebaceous cyst or a bone related swelling like osteoma. This needs a direct examination to detect the possibilities. Swelling due to varicose veins is also a possibility. FNAC and X-ray may help in proper diagnosis.

I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out. Wishing you good health.
