Is HIV 1 & 2 Combo Test Result Of Test Taken 21 Days Post Exposure Conclusive?

Question: Hello doctor
Good afternoon
I my self XXXXXXX XXXXXXX I have only vaginal sex with a prostitute on 24/03/2018{ may be hiv +}.I sex with her only 20 second. I have no kiss no oral sex and i think condom does not break. But due to fear After that I took pep virday on 26/03/2018. But I took pep just 3 days {28/03/2018}.Then I left pep. After I took pcr rna real time test which can detected 20 copies/ml on 07/04/2018 and result came back on 10/04/2018 Target not dected. After that 14/04/2018 I go to dr lal path lab and i took hiv 1& 2 combo {p 24+antibodies} test which also came negative. Plz dr tell me about my tests

You do not have HIV. Don't worry. PCR test is very sensitive and it detects even a very small quantity of viral RNA. But since the test is negative you have not got HIV. Also the HIV Elisa test is also negative. Therefore, do not worry.

But be careful henceforth. Do not go for such bad habits. If you are not married, then get married soon and have one faithful sexual partner.

but dr my fear is that I have taken 3 day pep which can affect result. 1 can 3 day pep affect my result

PEP cannot completely eliminate viral RNA from the blood. PCR test can detect even very very minute amounts of RNA.

Hence do not worry. But just for your satisfaction you can repeat an HIV ELISA test after 6 months of the exposure. If it is negative then completely forget about the incidence.
