Hi, I think the medicines is okay, but dose is on a higher side. Discuss with your doctor regarding this. You can improve your hemoglobin level by adding pomegranate, beet, spinach, Apple, gram and jaggery in diet.

so this is not likely to cause toxicity? I have had some nausea, diarrhea, and black stool, as well as higher thirst than normal. I started getting worried about it today.

Brief Answer:
No it is not toxic.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I think it is not toxic. But you can take a lower dose after consulting your doctor because bioavailability of chelated iron is higher. The nausea, diarrhea and black stools are side effects of iron tablets. Higher thirst may be happening due to diarrhea. Just improve your diet by taking pomegranate, beet, spinach, Apple, gram and jaggery. If your hemoglobin is less than 8, you may need iron injections. Otherwise, the diet and oral tablets are enough.
