Brief Answer:

it is an effective antibiotic

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Yes, you can both try a course of Bactrim to see if it helps. Bactrim is effective against a number of different bacteria.

Some persons may have bacteria present and do not have any symptoms of infection or any indication that the bacteria may be present.

Using a course for 7 to 10 days may be enough but your doctor may prescribe for up to 2 weeks if this is thought to be necessary.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
