Question: If you are immune to measles, can you catch it again while undergoing chemotherapy because of a suppressed immune system?

My friend's father has mesothelioma and is undergoing chemotherapy. He was born before 1957. His daughter recently got the measles, is there a risk of him getting infected because of a suppressed immune system?

Thank you in advance.

Brief Answer:
Yes possibility is there

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

Even though chemotherapy for mesothelioma is not too myelosuppressive, it can reduce immunity and exposure to measles can lead to an attack rarely.

Possibility is quite low but a small but finite chance is there.

Hope this helps.
