Brief Answer:
It is not possible that you have burned your back, this is due to esophageal pain radiating in the back

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,

When we swallow food it goes from the mouth to the stomach through the esophagus and very likely you have caused some burning in the esophagus.
It is unlikely to burn your back while swallowing.
Sometimes pain from esophagus may radiate in the back and very likely this is what is happening in your case.

Normally you should feel better in a few days but meanwhile you can try the following to help:

- eat soft nonspicy food, plane soups, cooked vegetables, canned fruit might be good. Try to avoid for a few daus nuts, rice or other hard food that might hurt you more if you swallow them
- all the food you take and fluids should be normal room temperature, not too hot and not too cold
- try to eat frequent small amounts of food and take fluids in small frequent amount as well to reduce reflux of stomach acids in your throat and irritate you even worse. The best choice to drink is room temperature water and milk.
- omeprazole 20 mg, 30 minutes before breakfast might be taken to help reduce acidity as well

If you do not improve in a few days or you notice any worsening please see your doctor. You will need to see your doctor even if you are better but latter develop difficulty swallowing.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
