I Rolled My Ankle Once Again (it's A Common Occurrence

default
Posted on Sun, 11 Aug 2019
Question: I rolled my ankle once again (it's a common occurrence for me), and as I fell down, I felt a "pop" in my ankle (I think on the inside). I felt immediate pain, but as I calmed down, the pain faded away. Now, I barely feel any pain (I'm pretty sensitive to pain, but this is a 1 on a scale of 1-10 at worst), there's no swelling/bruising, and other than my ankle feeling a little loose, I can walk normally. Why might I have felt a pop, and if I'm not in that much pain, am I free to resume normal activities?

Brief Answer:
Can be a ligament tear.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pop in the ankle that you felt can be due to a ligament tear. Even if there is not much pain it causes a joint instability. You should not resume the normal activities. It is best to get an MRI scan of the ankle done for proper diagnosis. It is better to use an elastic ankle brace till then for an extra support.
I hope this answers your query.
