Question: I have what I think is a hernia, I’ve had it at least 4 years it’s nevrt got any bigger, if anything I’ve lost weight lately and i think it’s maybe smaller, it’s not sore, I don’t think it ever has been?

Do I need something done about this?

Is it an emergency?

Could I just be fat?

Brief Answer:
Probably not a hernia

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

It does not look like a hernia. The best way to tell is by a clinical examination. If you feel there is a lump that gets smaller when you lie down and feels sore after some upright work, it could be a hernia. Have you ever surgery in your abdomen?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Brief Answer:
Yes it can be fat

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,

Yes, it can easily just be fat. If does not bother you in any way - other than cosmetically - I suggest you just let it be.
