Question: I have ringworm and it has been very itchy and red and rashy. I have it on my arm and hands and on my chest. Would it be okay to go to school since we use computers and people sit in the same desk as me in different class and I haven't started any treatment and since ringworm is contagious

Brief Answer:
Regarding fungal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service..I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Fungal spores that would be shed by scratching and rubbing would definitely contaminate the environment like desk, books, floor etc, however, the infection is usually facilitated by someone rubbing or scratching his own skin from where the fungal spores get access. Its not that mere contact of fungal spores with the skin would lead to infection. There has to be some help either from scratching or rubbing to facilitate infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance
