Question: I have been taking levothyroxine for Hashimotos disease for about 20 years. I have recently developed some trembling in my lips, some muscle quivering and some tingling and prickling primarily in my feet and lower legs. My TSH is 0.98 but my T4 free is slightly elevated at 1.71. Could this explain my symptoms?

Brief Answer:
No correlation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.

When the patient with Hashimoto disease start the treatement with Levothyroxine ,it is recommended to do the TSH test after 6 weeks of therapy,to adjust the Levothyroxine dosis.
In this way ,your doctor can help you to reach the maintenance dosis of Levothyroxine.

Your thyroid test results are Ok and they don't explain your symptoms.

Trembling in lips, muscle quivering and tingling in lower legs in most if cases have a neurogical origine(a neurogical condition can be the root cause)

But also,Stress, anxiety, ingesting too much caffeine or alcohol, calcium, magnesium and potassiun deficiency can be other potential cause that can explain your symptoms.

If your symptoms persist,My advice is to consult a neurologist in your area because it is necessary to do some specific tests to reach the right diagnosis.

Hope this is helpful.
Wish you good health.
