Question: I have been on birth control since last October of 2017 so this coming month it will be a year. My birth control is Junel Fe 1/20 the 28 day pack. I didn't get my period last month, I took a pregnancy test it was negative and I didn't get my period this month either. My question is if that is normal to stop getting your period when you are on the birth control pill? I have never missed a dose and I take my pill at the same time everyday.

Brief Answer:
This is normal

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking...
I can understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) Yes. It is normal for you to have missed periods without being pregnant while on birth control pills for a long time.

2) There is absolutely no chance of pregnancy.

3) These variations in periods happen to hormone level variations caused by pills for a long time.

Let me know if you need any more assistance.
